- Does anyone know whether the Sportster's V.34+ internal modems have:

- a) just a 16550 UART, or
-
- b) a 16550 UART plus additional ram buffering, or
-
- c) a 16550 emulation that is superior to either of the above.

- I'm still trying to decide between the internal or the external, and the
- only advantage to an internal for me would be if it is capable of superior
- performance (I am *assuming* that the external has no ram).

- I will be using it exclusively for connecting to ISP's. My current ISP
- uses Ascend 28.8 digital modems, but I may be connecting to ISP's with USR
- Couriers in the future.
